Dr. Corona Rintawan Crown Name

Corona Rintawan is an Indonesian medical emergency specialist. Corona has been active in his field since 2003 and he has led Muhammadiyah's medical team in several disasters. Later, he became the coordinator for Muhammadiyah's medical efforts to ward off the corona virus outbreak.

Dr. Corona Rintawan was born in Surabaya on January 1, 1975. He is the third of four children. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Brawijaya and obtained the SpEM degree in 2018. He began working in the organizational structure of Muhammadiyah starting in 2006 and everyday Dr. Corona Rintawan works at the Lamongan Muhammadiyah Hospital.

Corona became active in the field of medical emergencies in 2003, when he was assigned to Aceh. After the 2004 tsunami he also helped with medical efforts there. In 2013, Corona was sent to the Philippines with a medical team to help Typhoon Haiyan victims. Then, in 2015, he was sent to Nepal after the April 2015 earthquake. Corona was also sent to Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh in 2017 to help Rohingya refugees as the leader of the "Muhammadiyah Aid" team and coordinator of the Indonesian aid team.

Muhammadiyah Central Board introduced dr. Corona, the doctor who will lead the new corona virus eradication team or COVID-19 from Muhammadiyah. Although the name is similar to the name of the virus, but the doctor who has the full name Corona Rintawan admitted that his name did not refer to the virus originating from Wuhan, China. The name was given by dr. Corona because corona means crown. He also said that the similarity of names was merely a coincidence. He was lined up by Muhammadiyah as the head of the corona virus handling team not because his name was similar but because he did have qualified expertise.

As the corona virus spread in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah formed a command center to direct hospitals under the auspices of Muhammadiyah (a total of 20 hospitals in Java and Sumatra, supported by 30,000 points used for charitable purposes) and Corona was appointed as the leader of the command center.
